The best way to avoid getting caught up in endless or meaningless phone calls is to plan it ahead! Take 5 minutes of your morning to check how you need to contact them and what is the best time for them to talk. You can even send a short message to them earlier asking what is the best time to have the call.
i.e. “Hey there, I need to talk with you about the meeting we had yesterday. It won’t take more than 10 minutes. What would be the best time to call? Thank you!”
